However I have always had a hard ajusting to the side effects, such as fatigue, blurred vision and increased anxiety,, when increasing. Its been a long time since I have had an increase because of my alcohol use. Does anything help with the process? How long do they usually last? I was thinking maybe take do start off with taking the med in the evenings, I work so I am reluctant to start. I was also thinking since I have been on Citalopram for many years

I don't know if I have suggestions or not but I have gone through the process of changing my Citalopram dosage. I found 40 mg too high and had to go down to 30 mg. Not to be discouraging but I found the process difficult and had a bunch of side effects. The worst were the mornings when I was too tired to get up but too uncomfortable in my own skin to stay in bed. That was hell. It takes me 10 days to 2 weeks to settle into a new dosage which isn't bad when it's the right dosage but awful when it's the wrong dosage and I have to wait that long to try a change. Then it's another 2 weeks to see how that dosage is going to work. Good luck with it.

I have been on it for years to be told it's useless . It sure felt useless . I was reduced from 40 mg to 20 before being switched to sertraline two days ago

What makes it even harder I work full-time, do not have short-term benefit leave. Me too, takes me about the same period of time to get through the side effects.Don't like the process at all. Seeing my Dr, again this Friday see what she suggests. For now staying with the 20mg. Thank you Bobbie, just knowing I am not alone on this helps. Hugs Forest
