Dogs are the best support animals as always so loving and giving, but also need you. Unlike a cat who is very independent. With out my two dogs my life certainly wouldn't be worth holding on for on the bad days. I don't think there is a time to replace a dog, as you will never replace what you have lost. But the right dog I believe will come to you. If you like a particular breed then go onto a site where you can make an application for an adoption.

I have 2 dogs that are my biggest support when I don't want to talk to anyone else. I rescued Bear not long after my other dog passed.

My olive isn't a legal support animal but she is a great support to me. I lost my first cat some years ago and I think I had to wait a year to let my poor heart heal..

Losing a support animal is hard... I think you need to enlist another asap. If you had a support animal because you were blind... You would get another as soon as you could. I would treat your situation the same... unless you are thinking to go it alone now.
