Starting On Lithium And Terrified
After running the gambit with all of the SSRIs and SNRIs over 13 years my new psychiatrist will be starting me on lithium. I have always been against trying it but the only medications left to try that might help are lithium and ritalin and given that i am an addict i think it would be a massive shot in the dark (and in the foot ) to try ritalin. Me too. Maybe you can take meds such as Levothyroxine to help with the lithium thyroid side effects? I just get a blood test to check my thyroid levels :o)
Checking your thyroid levels should be done in all patients receiving any psychiatric meds. Low thyroid is very common with this.
For me lithium put me into a suicidal depression which is very very uncommon. My psychiatrist was shocked.

I was on lithium I had to drink a lot of water. I also found out when you go to any dentist or when you have that machine that tests for cancer of the breast, ask for the apron that would protect your neck, it is a flap to cover your neck and it is a much less rick of cancer.
