Has Anyone Found They've Had To Quit Or Drastically Reduce Their Caffeine Intake Because Of Anxiety?

I've found that my morning coffee is starting to trigger my anxiety. Maybe I'll switch to tea:(

Most definitely. Caffeine stimulates the nerves, especially if you're sensitive to begin with. I drink tea all day and don't seem to be affected by it. But coffee I had to do away with entirely, drinking only decaff and even then just on the weekends.

But here's something else to consider. As long as you know it's the coffee that is causing the trembling and lightheaded feelings, which in turn leads to anxiety, once you regain some confidence you can go ahead and enjoy the java. Just know there may be a temporary price to pay.

I know caffeine is not good for me. I think it is my sercert addiction.
Even the hospital I go allows us to drink allows caffeine. Not what my in take. But i don't recommend it.
It evens me out. And probably will kill me.

Hi,
I quit coffee in the mornings and switched it for decaffinated green tea. It took some getting used to but it did improve things a little. The caffeine was escalating my anxiety and panic attack symptoms.

Love coffee but keep it to two cups a day and decaf if I want it at night. I like tea too, but stick to decaf if Iā€™m going to have more than one cup, I go thru quarts of iced tea and iced coffee in the summer so i make those decaf too.

I stopped drinking caffeine a year ago. One of the best things I have done.
