It takes a long time.
surround yourself with positive people. Above anything else get lined up with a counselor. They can help immensely I was married to a man for forty two years who abused me mentally and verbally.I was rock bottom. He divorced me eight years ago and it has taken all that time to try and get some self esteem back. He was the main cause of my depression.Good luck.
