Wellbutrin. Negative Effects For Anyone Else!?
Hi. I'm really needing support right now Has anyone here had a really negative effect(s) on Wellbutrin ER? I'm experiencing weight gain, crying ( I am not someone that cries unless I'm angry or severely depressed). I feel empty, like I'm nothing. The first part of the year I was doing well, lost weight, cut bad food out of my diet. But ever since my third month on this I've gone back to eating too much and then guilt and I relapsed back into sh after three months without it. I've gone off of… read more
Don’t give up ! Ask your doc about some other types. Have you tried trintellix? This works for me. Also I realized that I do need to live with some side effects. I just find the pill that I can tolerate the most which also helps me cope.
Good luck 🤞
I can relate to being chubby and fat. Because of the medications I have to take in order to function every day I have put on about 25 pounds. I’ve tried exercising, dieting and now I’m on a weight loss pill which comes with its own side effects! In this society that focuses so much on being thin I find it very depressing that I cannot get to a weight I consider a thin person’s weight. I now accept that I will always be chubby or overweight. But without the pills I don’t want to do anything which is worse. Stimulants do help me but they make me manic. I do exercise every day although my stamina is not what it used to be which is also depressing.
I’m sorry this is so long and off topic. Wellbutrin will cause some agitation but I’m on a low dose.
I've tried all kinds of antidepressants and never had a bad reaction except from Prozac. Which made me shake like crazy and I couldn't eat anything. Now I'm on cipralex and mirtzapine and it's not too bad.
I developed a terrible itchy rash from Wellbutrin that lasted many weeks. I have not been able to take any psych meds at all due to side effects.
There is a test you can get (cheek swab) that will tell you what psychotropic drugs your body can tolerate to take the guesswork out of chosing a medication. It's called the GeneSight test. It is a DNA test that shows which meds your body can genetically break down to get the best results the way they were designed. It gives 3 categories Green=your body will absorb it the way it's designed: yellow=there are cautions about the drug; red=the drugs can be harmful and may not good for you and may not be absorbed by the body due to your genetics. Wellbutrin was in the red column for me come to find out.
Doctors prescribe these drugs with no idea if they will be harmful or not. Get the GeneSight test and put your mind and body at ease.
I was not able to take the meds prescribed and found that Medical Marijuana lozenges have helped me especially with sleep as I had severe insomnia after a traumatic brain injury from a car accident. This TBI also caused my depression which so far is also drug resistant.
Wellbutrin was awful for me, but I didn't realize it right away. I was very quick to cry over anything, my world was grey and sex drive....it became non-existant.
I am on Venlafaxine HCL ER. I know it's not for everyone, but it has been a blessing to me. Just DO NOT run out of pills or stop taking it. This stuff can be very bad to not have.
