What Helps Your Depression And Anxiety?
Hi all. I'm looking for different approaches to start to recover from all this. I don't drink caffeine anymore and I don't eat sweets. I try to take a 45 minute walk five times a day. I use lavender oil and stress relief body spray. I'm constantly with my family. I try to get enough sleep. I see a therapist but all that really does is have somebody listen to me without advice. What else can I try? Thank you
Here is something that might help you for a few hours. I watch a movie i really, really want to see and just go in the zone of the movie and forget everything else. It helps for a few hours.
You are doing all the right things. I don't know how much more you could do except switch up your exercise routine to include more vigorous exercise. And, find a different counselor. One that you click with. Keep looking if you have to. You shouldn't be seeing one that offers no help. I've also found that when I'm really anxious listening to music helps. For me I like it loud and hard. But most people like soothing music. Your choice.
I would try doing something to help others..
Maybe visit people in a nursing home..
Or help at a food kitchen..
Just some thoughts..
But working with kids makes me happy..
Cooking food for my co workers gives me joy..
And realizing i can live a great life no matter what..
I find adult coloring calms me
Meditation helps me as well as been mindfulness
