You will more than likely get sicker. Please take it from one who has done this and got really sick. Taper off slowly. I was severely depressed, and I was tapering off lexapro, slowly. When I started getting sick Nothing was helping me, so I quit all my medicine. Only to worsen & ended up in a hospital, plus trying to commit suicide. Please taper off with a doctors help. SLOWLY

I took it for a couple of years. I took a much higher dose. First i would not stop any medicine without consulting your doctor. I was weaned off mine. I would not just stop it after taking it for a year.

I was taking generic Cymbalta 60mg twice a day, they changed me to a generic Lexapro. They weaned me off of Cymbalta, they say that it's not good to quit it all right away... to be weaned off of it. I went down to 30mg twice a day and then one 30 mg a day.

You have to wean yourself off easy like every other day. My fog went away after I went off it.
