Can Coffee Make Your Anxiety Worse?
@A MyDepressionTeam Member I have read Caffeine is a stimulant — and that can be bad news for someone with anxiety. Caffeine’s jittery effects on your body are similar to those of a frightening event. That’s because caffeine stimulates your “fight or flight” response, according to a 2006 study, and research from 2018 has shown that this can make anxiety worse and can even trigger an anxiety attack.

I am a regular coffee drinker and it doesn't seem to affect my anxiety at all but I would think that it would also depend on how many cups of coffee you have in a day. I only have 1 or 2 cups and I am fine with that.
Coffee DOES make my anxiety worse. Well, caffeine in any form does so I try to limit my consumption and timing of that caffeine consumption. I typically have two caffeinated drinks per day, both before 3pm. Otherwise it keeps me awake and for some reason my anxiety is so much worse at night, alone in a dark room. I flip out typically.
I would think so, my Dr was telling me I need to cut down on my coffee for I was having more than usual anxiety, also if you take meds sometimes it works against them
Not that I have noticed . Of course I am a one cup in the morning person , so maybe if I drank a lot it could be a problem .
