Does Your Family Or Friends Treet You Different Because You Suffer From A Mental Illness?
I found out by accident that my sister is dying from cancer. I was kept in the dark because my family believed I couldn't handle it. I know that this is because of my depression. I was wondering if any of you have had similar experiences? Or has your family or friends treated you differently because of your illnesses? If so, how what did you do about it?
RayLigouri. Is that because you isolate and have trouble trusting people?
I just try not to let it show, except for a select few. Family isn't always close; sometimes friends are closer. I had someone who used to be one of my best friends seem shocked that I'm on disability. She asked why, and when I told her, she said "Join the club!" My sister, my husband and my eldest daughter are understanding.
Hugs to you!
The world can be very cruel and so can family I think sometimes they are worse than strangers we meet on the street I've always been the black sheep of my family my mother and father never gave up on me and my middle sister and I have always struggled she's perfect and I'm always wrong in her mind but I realized or noticed on Thanksgiving and since then she has been a lot better so I'm hoping that our good gathering there has created a loophole for me and her keep your chin up God's got you and you're in my prayers Lisa...😘❣️🙏
Ray, I am totally an extrovert, so I thrive on being around others. I am glad you have your job and kids. 😊
Lucky kids to have such an attentive Dad. 🥰
