Does Anyone Else Sabotage Their Own Happiness By Comparing Themselves To Others. Does Anyone Have Suggestions?

I should be proud of myself after 2 big hikes in less than 24 hours, but then I see others and disappointment sets in.

I picked this saying from a DC movie. "You think yourself unworthy of happiness. You are unwilling or unable to confine your failures in the past, to the past. Even when those who died forgave you."

Humans are comparative in nature, and we often seek validations for the things we do. You achieved something quite phenomenal (I mean, I would pass out halfway through the hike because I am unfit) - so I am quite impressed. That being said, your achievements are your own, and no matter if someone (let's use hiking in this instance) hiked less or more than you (and did a backflip at the end) - they can't take your achievement away from you. You did it, and that is something to be proud of. Sometimes it's good to give yourself a pat on the back and just say, "well done me." You set out to do something, and did it - and that's already a big up.
