Here is a breathing exercise I was given when I was in therapy: Breathe in deeply through your nose so that your diaphragm is raised and hold it for about 5 to 10 seconds then exhale through your mouth, repeat until you feel calmer. It does work and helps you get through the situation causing the panic attack. I have even had to do this on public transport.

I try to lay down and focus on the sound of my breathing. I turn everything off and just try to meditate and calm down. It doesn't always work but it does seem to help a bit

close your eyes, breath in count of 20, hold for as long as you can, best 20 and exhale to count of 20. Do this with counts 5 or 6 times slowly, hopefully this may help.
