Has Anyone Felt Ashamed To Cry In Their Psychiatrists Office?

I had a total meltdown and feel embarrassed by it. I don't want him to think I'm not trying or practicing/using my skills I learned in IOP

Darcy, having a meltdown in your psychiatrists office is nothing to be ashamed of because you are letting out emotions and he will not think any less of you for doing so. Having a meltdown in your psychiatrists office is probably one of the safest places to have a meltdown.

They’re used to it that’s their job. If they have an issue with it they are not on your team and you need to take your business somewhere else

I used to be afraid to cry at counseling, but now I know it's a part of the counseling process.
It's OK to cry.
It's perfectly OK not to be OK.
It's a part of healing.

Thanks for the answer..I have been in a few intensive outpatient programs. Good programs, yet the follow through with what you learn can be tricky.
