What Is The Best Prescription Medication For Depression?
Major Depressive Disorder & Extreme Anxiety
@A MyDepressionTeam Member There is no such thing. It varies from person to person. What works for me might not work for you. The best thing to do is to form a relationship with a psychiatrist that you respect and trust and ask him/her what they suggest. Hopefully they got years of experience to bring to you. And I would also say don't assume that the first drug will work. You might have to try a number of drugs to get to the right one. And over time you change and you might need another drug that works even better. The key is the trust and respect you hold your doctor in. Also read up on the drug. You can ask about the side effects but look it also. My doctor suggested MAOI's at one point. I wasn't comfortable taking them. So I spoke up. You have to trust but also gain knowledge and work with your prescriber.
Sandy Wellbutrin made me unaware of my surroundings and could not see. It's not for everyone.
Well I don't know if I am spelling this right, but Wellbutrin worked well for me for three years.
Different medications work different for each person. For example, i know people who do well on prozac, yet it made me feel suicidal. Unfortunately it's hit or miss. Wish it were simpler. Hope you're ok Angie.
