@A MyDepressionTeam Member - I would recommend it because I was suicidal before it and those thoughts went away. I would definitely ask a lot of questions if I were Bipolar. And like everything else some people are going to have bad reactions to it(memory loss). It's a gamble. Talk it over with your psychiatrist.

You are very welcome! I want to clear up all the negativity about ECT. It is a good treatment and there is a lot of people that do it. And have success!!

I read the article that Kali posted. It really scares me For a couple reasons one.,.I live with Chronic back pain every day. Second...I'm kinda forgetful as it is.... afraid it would make it worse. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow. I'm gonna talk with her an see what her thoughts are cause this is absolutely no life the way I've been since loosing my Mom. I know she wants me to be happy an I've really tried till it just has me down..My medicine doesn't work...none seem to work... sorry 😐

ECT has helped me out a lot! I have gotten over 80 treatments over the years! My psychiatrist is also my ECT doctor! He monitors me closely! Have not had any side effects from it!
