Umm I am not sure how to answer this question. But for me my therapy session helps me cope.

My top protective factor that keeps me living is a dog and I know when I lost my dog and had to go three months before getting another one. My depression and stress and worrying was at a very bad levels I got to where I was suicidal and/or homicidal, but now I have my Ace and he makes my life so much better.
