Signing a release on doctor patient confidentiality. Allowing that's psychiatrists' professional medical opinion be added as evidence for your disability claim.

Either keep filing or with it waived confidentiality on psychiatric opinion

Most people get rejected. Most of my friends have been rejected, just keep refilling.

I disagree with Barbara. Not everyone gets rejected. I got it on my first try WITHOUT an attorney.

You need to have all your ducks in a row. If part of your disability is mental illness then get someone to help you fill out the paperwork. It helps to put as much stuff as possible and then add even more that you don't think they need. I added my asthma, bum knee, and every psych diagnosis I ever had up to that point. They want every hospital location and doctor's name and address that you have ever been to. Counselor/therapist too. Basically anything medical that you can come up with that affects your daily living negatively needs to be put down. If you know the dates of hospitalizations put it down. Save every hospital and ER discharge paperwork. Also, keep any records of doctor visits.

Basically you want to load the Social Security Administration down with paperwork. Just make sure you keep physical copies of everything you send in.

Another idea... ask family and friends to write affidavits saying what they have witnessed about your disability and then have them sign it in front of a notary.

I hope this helps. You got this!

Just keep reapplying!!! Everyone gets rejected. Talk to your psychiatrists, make sure he or she has sent in the required paper work. Can take years, don't give up!!!
