Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on May 14, 2018

"After years of feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough." -Member of MyDepressionTeam

Members of MyDepressionTeam experience the burden of depression physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear 'fine' to avoid the stigma of mental illness. Other times, we experience relief and support from peers who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my condition anymore. If I'm struggling, I'm going to reach out. Hearing from others with depression has taught me that I have to prioritize ME."
-Member of MyDepressionTeam

Here are recent conversations from MyDepressionTeam:

Woke up super early, which is really nothing new. Insomnia is a real pain. Doing a house sitting job that at least gives me some solitude which I desperately need for a week. Grateful I didn't wake up anxiety-ridden today!

I’m grateful to have had a productive day. My biggest distraction I’ve been using is cooking! This has been very therapeutic for me on many levels.

After months of avoiding nights out because I've always got too anxious and self-conscious. Last night I finally made the big step got out my PJs and bed and went into town to meet my work friends.

Have you found yourself striving to appear as though you have it all together? Have you discovered ways to surround yourself with others who make you feel that you are more than enough? Share what you've learned in the comments below or directly on MyDepressionTeam.com.
