Advice For Handling Early Morning Panic?
I would like to hear any tips on handling anxiety that hits the second I wake up, which then leads into a low where I feel overwhelmed and struggle to do anything at all. I'm on my own with young children so I have to manage this better.
SO GLAD I am not alone. I have the exact same problem. Everyday. Soon as I wake up I am in full blown panic attack. Im talking the very SECOND i realize I am awake it begins. Thought I was gojng insane. So so glad im not alone.
As cliche as it may sound, I wake up and practice breathing exercises. Specifically I use an app called "My CalmBeat" it has a visual aid to assist in breathing exercises, I find it very helpful!
I couldn't leave the house 🏡! It was awful but this new alarm is helpin lol
It's so simple yet affective and has really helped me
Hi Deborah
Yes the meds and time taken could be a factor. Have you tried a different alarm? Now I know that sounds silly but you can get different alarms on your phone and tablet to wake you up in the mornings. I used to wake up depressed and sometimes suffer morning paranoia but since I have a gentle morning bird song with soothing music I wake up and control my breathing along with the music 🎶
It's wonderful and it feels like I'm calming my body before leaving the bed, I would also suggest heading straight for the shower before anything else, don't pee, don't brush your teeth don't drink coffee ☕️ just wake up to the music and bird song, breath slowly and rhythmically and then go shower :)
It has worked wonders for my morning routine and sets me up for the day,
Hope it helps and let me know how you get on
