Please be careful... Misdiagnosis still happens a lot and from what I've learnt psychiatry is also a guessing game... I've OD'd cause of pills making me psychotic due to a misdiagnosis...

Hi Andie. I've had that experience with the thyroid meds I take. I was on the generic for a while and felt terrible. When I was back at my doctor's for a follow up visit, he asked if I was taking my med. I said of course I am. That's when he told me my numbers were all off and he put me on the name brand thyroid med. He said it has something to do with what they make the pills with and the binders they use. I've not had the same experience with anti depressants that I'm aware of except to say I've been on quite a number of different ones over the years.

...it's probably psychosomatic... many drug benefits and side effects are ( check out the cochran reports http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/cochranelibrary/... for the low down on drug efficacy.. ) - I found the first time I used Prozac amazing... felt my " best self / really me" ... stopped after a while - became depressed again - so started taking again - no effect - even with double dose.
