Enviormental sounds help my favorite is thunderstorms
Having bipolar means that I always struggle to fall asleep. I designed a workable sleep routine which includes a hot shower or bath with soothing music. I record anything I'd like to watch after 9pm. (I love tv) then I pray. I also take a low dose sedating medication at night
I've always hated bed time because the next time I open my eyes it's another day to face. Because of the depression and the very reason I don't like to go to bed, I have developed a very unhealthy sleep pattern. In turn, I have had to try and find employment that best suits my sleep pattern, so I have generally chosen night shift. I've tried many different suggestions to try & change but what is, just is, it seems 🌷
Melatonin is a homeopathic herbal sleep aid. Start at a low dosage. The bottles are clearly marked. It helps me get to sleep when I can't get my brain to shut off.
Yes I find at times that no matter how tired I am I don't want to sleep! Computor & TV or reading can be a problem. I find that I must "fight" with myself to get into a good bed time routine and force myself to bed....If I don't the tiredness takes over my life and we all suffer. When it's really bad my specialist gives me a course of sleeping tablets which I highly recommend. The key is going to bed same time every night...sigh
