Does Anyone Ever Feel Like They Might Be Cheating Others Of Our Friendship, If We Don't Go Out Among Other People?

Cheating others out of our friendship by isolating or not trying to socialize.

We,re going to have to work on that, Jobi. Write down a list of your good qualities, write positives on small pieces of paper, put them in a jar. Every morning, when you wake up, take one out to make your day a good one. Look in the mirror, really see yourself, tell yourself that you love yourself, give yourself a big hug for everything you've gone through and survived, see the warrior you are, you rock!! Think of all of those women empowerment songs, you're included in that, you know!

Hugs and love,

Mary

No ... I don't feel like I'm cheating others of my friendship if I don't get out to socialize.
If they are truly my friends, they would realize how utterly frightful and exhausting it is for me to take the extra medication just to prevent passing out in a public place. It is also very embarrassing when that happens. If they were truly my friends, they would come spend time at my home where I feel safe and happy. We can watch movies, @exercise, eat, etc here at my home.
If they don't ... then they are not my true friends. Yup. I'm isolated. But not by 'my choosing'. It is necessary for me to stay well.

@Swwet1. Awww Mary, i'm very fortunate that my friends (adopted clan) understand my Anxiety/Panic attacks & only a few i no longer speak 2 decided they couldn't handle my MHI, their loss as i'm still me, the sill mischievous bugger who was/is a damn grt nurse. the rest r very supportive.
Good question Mary, but i must also add TRUE friends like Irish said 2 me 2day STAND by u!! 4 the rest who leave, clearly they were not friends just superficial turds!!!

I’m sure your friends would love you to hang with them. But if your anything like me you’ve said No so often they quit asking! I’m not saying that’s your situation just using an example. Hope this finds you well 😀 @A MyDepressionTeam Member

I used to feel like that when I was feeling at my worst. That’s when I found out who my true friends were. I’m out and about now but it was hell before.
