Have You Ever Been Told To Just Get Over Your Depression?
Personally, I think that's what we are doing when we take medication. Only difference, is whether or not we get offended telling ourselves that it's time to take our medicine.
I have. You just can't "get over your depression" it's not that easy. I believe people with depression can control it is one thing. Most of the time depression is a result of chemical imbalances in the brain.
I sure have. My mom tells me to stop thinking about it and tell myself positive thoughts. It’s funny because she has had situational depression herself and it comes and goes. She doesn’t have the years of depth of despair that has plagued me my entire life. Think happy. My ever optimistic son is the same way. I try to explain to him that is a medical problem but he doesn’t see it. I don’t know why not. He’s taken care of a lot of people that have medical issues. Not all we’re mental but there have been some. He was a CNA for years and just loved the people he worked with. I guess he’s blind to see what’s in front of his face. Or doesn’t want to accept the fact that Mom has issues.
I just go quiet. It’s easier that way.

I agree with both Easter and David. Nobody seems to understand it. It's sad
