What would you do if your old psychiatrist would not work with you on your meds and make them better or add something to it or up to what I have.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member I would definitely look for a new one. Perhaps contact your insurance and see if they have any suggestions? Or friends? It definitely is time if they won't work with you to get things better. Also depends on how many years you've been seeing the person. Did they help you at one time? You could even tell them that you are thinking of leaving them to see what they say? And maybe make changes then? Whatever you do I wish you the best of luck!!! This isn't an easy thing to do! Sending positive vibes to you!

I didn’t have a psychiatrist but I had a therapist and a psych nurse that prescribed the meds. My therapist found another psych nurse for me. She is amazing. If you feel that your psychiatrist is not willing to work with you then I feel it’s time to find one who will. Struggling is hard enough. We need someone on our side to do what’s best for us. Praying for you!!

I had the exact same problem as you. My psychiatrist refused to prescribe me new meds despite my pleas to him that my meds weren’t working anymore. I have a new psychiatrist and she is proactive with me and cares about my well-being.
