In A Mess With Days/nights. They Are Totally Switched With Me!!
I am not on here much anymore and I hate that. I am working with meds with Psychiatrist for past couple months. On way too many. Other doctors are complaining because they feel the psychotic ones aren't working and too many, causing physical problems worse. Used to take Vyvanse 70mg day and completely off. She put me on mood stabilizer LamoTRIgine 25mg 1 every morning for 2 weeks then go to 2 day. After my body adjust to that then going to work on depression med. Has anyone had days and nights… read more
Yes, unfortunately it takes time. I'm doing good, sometimes just a little tired, it's usually do to lack of sleep. Meds are working now. I'm on Lamotrigine too. I take 200mg 2x a day. Plus I'm on other meds for bipolar. I hope things turn around for you quickly.
Dee, I don't envy your battle with antidepressants and the other medications. After taking every kind and combination for decades, and having very little relief from my symptoms, at 71 I am finally off all the drugs and doing much better. We feel we have no choice but to trust doctors, that they know what they are doing and have our best interests in mind, but my experience has found this not to be true. Unfortunately, I believe you have to come to this conclusion yourself. It seems the only way to know what is best for you is to learn by experience. But also, trust the little voice in your head if it is telling you that what they are doing is not helping. All along I was led to believe that I was biochemically imbalanced and "treatment resistant " and I felt I was doomed. I felt I had no choice but to trust the doctors and hope that the next prescription we tried might be the answer. Now that I am not numb, and suffering the negative side-effects of the medications, I can release emotions and am doing the early childhood work that is really at the root of the problem. The science of treating depression does not bode well for how effective antidepressants truly are. I think it is terrible that we went from psychoanalysis to relying on what can be prescribed. Be sure to incorporate other modalities in your healing journey. Exercise is formost. Journaling, caring for your pet, tapping, meditation, classes, a new hobby, whatever takes you out of your head and can give you some hope. If you like podcasts, Michael Singer is a good guy to listen to. His book, Untethered Soul, is exceptionally helpful and there is a Facebook group that provides insight on daily living and ways to perceive life in a healthier way. Whatever, you are in my thoughts!
I know how you feel. I never have energy to do anything either. And most nights I have trouble sleeping. When I finally do get to sleep I only get a couple hours worth.
Ask your doctor if you can take a sleep patch. I use one from Amazon. I will look for the exact name and post it for you.
I take Celexa for depression. It has worked for several years, and doesn't make me drowsy.
Try to get some exercise at least 3 to 4 times a week. It really does make a difference for me. It helped heal me, along with counseling once a week for almost a year.
I do, do tuneup with my counselor as needed to keep me on track.
Good luck! Keep us posted!
Take care!
You're on the right path. It's most likely the medication leaving you body. You're just having to get used to it. Rest when you can.
