When You Are Nervious, How Do You Deal With It?
Worried about not doing good enough on a speach I was asked to give.
@A MyDepressionTeam Member as a theatre major, I've had to do a lot of public speaking, so here's what I learned works best for nerves: practice, practice, practice! The more prepared you are, the more you'll know what to expect & the less nervous you'll be! Say it out loud several times! And do some relaxation rituals too. You got this!
I try to meditate. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't
Agreeing with ActingPrincess. Rehearse your speech with and without your notes as much as possible before you give the speech, to the point where nothing will be able to get you off course, including getting nervous suddenly, or experiencing distractions or interruptions. Rehearse the speech until it bores you to tears and you nearly know it by heart. At that point, you’ll be so prepared that when the day comes, you will know the speech so well that you can elaborate on points, provide examples, and add in jokes if necessary and still remain calm. At least this is what works for me.
I exercise it off the anxiety. I take a walk in a park or forest preserve, or mountain park.
Sounds smart I hope I can do thst
