I Have Bipolar Ll And Am Currently Experiencing Some Mania. I'm On An Antidepressant And A Mood Stabilizer. This Is Fairly New And I'm Not

I have bipolar ll and am currently experiencing some mania. I'm on an antidepressant and a mood stabilizer. This is fairly new to me, the bipolar diagnosis. I have suffered from depression for years. I would be grateful to hear how others deal with episodes of mania. It's a bit scary. Thank you!

My ex was manic. He just took more of his Depakote but he had drs permission tonl do that. He also made sure he slept. If he didn't get enough sleep he would get manic. I would call your Dr and tell him your manic. Should tell you what to do.

I accidentally took my Lithium twice. I was crazy manic. At least I was able to use it to be productive instead of buying out a store

@A MyDepressionTeam Member Glad you are seeing your doctor. It's scary sometimes. Did he change anything? Sometimes they reduce the dosage of an antidepressant when you are manic. It depends on what your dosage is to begin with. Hope that you are less inclined to climb Mt Everest today. I never wanted to climb mountains but I did spend too much. Luckily I always buy something I can return. Good luck!!

Try to enjoy the good parts and not fall apart! You may find yourself spending more, putting excess stress on your body. Sometimes during mania we feel like there's no consequences so be warw of the choices in front of you. Measure risks of behavior. Most of all, dear, take care of yourself.

It's good you have appt tomorrow. From what I know about mania I know a lot of people spend a lot of money on things they don't need and think they are invincible. Like you wanting to climb Mt Everest. At least you recognized what was happening. You may feel uncomfortable keeping it under control but it can be done. Hang in there you'll be OK. If you have any questions I'll try to answer.
