Depression And Lack Of Motivation (Lack To Thrive)
I have a major depression disorder since I was a kid. I'm 62 now and lately after a physical altering medical condition, I just am losing motivation & would rather curl up in a ball & say ____ it. Furthermore, I know it sounds like self-pity, but I don't give up... ever! But for these transitory times, how do you pull your lazy ass out of it??
@A MyDepressionTeam Member I know where you are coming from because my bed is my favorite place to be but it’s not only from depression, I also have chronic pain. The depression keeps me in my room and I usually only go to doctors appointments and then our little granddaughter loves yard sales on Friday as begs me, so I get up and go with them but other than that I stay home. Oh I forgot if there is a death in the family of someone close that I feel the person needs me, I will get up and go to funeral home.
Others have discussed having a job and I am 68 now and don’t think that is an option for me but someone that is younger might could get a part time job and see if that would help them. If they could manage that and maybe start feeling better then they could look for a full time job and be able to help themselves and others.
Hugs and I hope all of us can get motivated and help each other
I talk to my therapist, my psychiatrist, and my sponsor. I also read my Big Book when available. My meds help a lot too.
@A MyDepressionTeam Member thank you for your feedback, it helped
Major problem here as well. The bare necessities get done, but even a phone call is too extra to accomplish.
I hope to read really workable suggestions here.
