Thank you for answering me. I am dealing with feeling pinched by the faith community I have been in, and knowing they are not exactly tolerant of the LGBTQ community. Things were said last week that subtly indicated our trajectory towards hell. I hate being in the closet again, but I wanted to be around people. I don't think I can make myself go again. It took me 56 years to get out of the closet. Have you dealt with this sort of thing?

@A MyDepressionTeam Member. Anytime, sweetheart. When I call 988 (for suicide prevention and for crisis) they have a dedicated line for LGBTQ+ line, another for veterans, and more. 988 is GREAT. They are volunteers called "the Samaritans", who are there 24/7. That is only one group that answers the hotline. I believe there are other groups too.

I am part of the community. I was raised in church. I am also a Christian. I have dealt with criticism even just while fighting for equality. A lot of people seem to miss the mark when it comes to being a follower of Christ.
