Also, if you get a leaflet inside your pill boxes, they should state possible side effects. If not, this website is really useful if you need to look up anything you're taking. Also, while you can still drink, try to keep any drinking in moderation. I can't exactly explain why moderation is important with this medication but I've heard going over any limits that are deemed sensible doesn't really mix well so just a heads up https://www.drugs.com/citalopram.html

Not experienced side affect but have been proscribed them fa 5 yrs now. They keep me on a neutral keel on a day to day nasis but. Any extra stress or situations arise in life I still have an inability to cope and still find myself feeling depressed. Aspecially in th evenings when loneliness kicks in. I do hope u go forth and prosper tho. Life is for th living. Amie x

It affects everyone differently and from experience, the side effects are usually more hard hitting within your first few weeks. Some of the possible effects I'm familiar with are depressive symptoms, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, fatigue, nausea and possibly more. For me after all the horrible side effects all citalopram seems to do is leave me feeling numb emotionally speaking, I guess a way I'd choose to describe it is right in the centre of the grey area of the emotion spectrum. Don't just stop taking them either otherwise the withdrawal can genuinely kick you down but talk to your doctor if something's wrong or you don't feel your medication is doing you any good.

I've been taking Citalopram for over a year now and am doing very well on it. I am not aware of any side effects and don't get any nausea.

I was on them for two years or so, before I took myself off them. For the first few weeks to maybe a few months it just made me feel sick. Like I wanted to throw up but couldn't. But those symptoms lessened over time. I just let my body do its thing and regulate itself to the medication.
