Odd Question, But What Do You Do With Your Animals?
This question is posed to suicidal people with animals. What do you do with your animals? I was to the point once where I figured that I would have to kill my animals first then myself. But then thought, what if I kill them and then can't go through with killing myself? So what plans have you made for your animals or who will take care of them after you are gone?
I have been here, too. Having been dead for 15 minutes thanks to my own hand, I'm embarrassed to say I didn't think about my cat or dog. I take that back. I had this feeling that the dog would eat part of me, then the cat would come in and feast, too. I guess I wasn't quite ready for that, though. I stumbled out my front door, and walked two blocks away where I finally collapsed.
ART25 is correct, though. If you start thinking of your pets as your children, something magnificently wonderful starts to happen - you realize that you have some amazing creatures who depend on you for everything.
Along those lines: something that has taken away the desire to harm myself has been becoming active with young children in things like babysitting, daycare work, tutoring, or volunteering at schools. I found it so difficult to be depressed around such young, innocent, sweet, huggable, bright balls of sunshine. And there is nothing like having a bad day when you walk in to a classroom, and one of them asks what's wrong. All I had to say was that I was sad and needed a hug - I would have 30 of them clammoring to be the best hugger.
I hope this helps you realize that this world needs YOU. You may not know it now, but there is a life that will depend on you for its happiness. Hold tight to that, and never be afraid to ask for help.
Blessings - C
I was in the same situation a couple of years ago. I said i would take her with me and have her on a leash and walk into the lake cause I can't swim. I don't trust anyone with her. I don't want her put in a room like my best friend does with her cat. Afraid others would just put outside or rake her to the pound. She would die.
But I realized whatever the reason being, suicide IS NOT THE ANSWER. Seek help please..ππ people care about you.
Letβs look at it a different way. I had suicide as a option into my 30βs. It is no longer an option.
Instead of asking what to do with your animals how about thanking them for keeping you alive. They are like kids and sometimes better. They tend to look after their humans more then we can look after young kids. They give you a reason to get up because they need you. And you need them. Unconditional love. You deserve it.
Your doctor can help you to turn your pet into a emotional support animal so u can take them with you.
I did this with my cat
My animals would pass away before me and if not I would leave it in my will for my friends to take care of them or my mum
