Does Anyone Dealt With Depression That's Caused By Grief?
Today June 16,2024 is Father's Day my I'm having a rough day because it's father's day and I can't celebrate it with my father. I feel that grief is part of my depression
I have had a lot of grief in my almost 70 years, and nobody is immune. I have a Master’s Degree in Family Counseling, and knowledge alone doesn’t make you immune from grief issues and/or depression. (You can read 100 short blogs I wrote about grief recovery at www.newobits.com, and maybe some of them will help.) Time, a good support system, a good Psychiatric Nurse Practioner and a fantastic supportive wife and therapy have kept me sane but no one is immune from depression. Although now I’M back in a phase of resisting going back to therapy, because I don’t want to go through recanting all those losses again with a new therapist, I know it will either be different meds or therapy that gets me back on track. But I don’t quit! I hope I have helped you in some small way.
Yes, that's how mine started 🙏
Yes, grief can exacerbate depression. I've been going thru it, too.
I had a hard day that day too. Mostly I tried to ignore it. Both my parents are gone now. There's a lot of bad memories there so I try to only think of the good moments.
